Entries for month: October 2013

Spring is almost here (not really)

It's almost time again for the USA Triathlon National Challenge Competition, or NCC for short. Just when you thought the tri season was over or maybe just winding down, along comes the NCC for another year of off-season competition-y goodness.

Last year's edition involved over 3,000 athletes and 120 clubs from around the country, our best year ever. Over a million miles were logged by swimmers, cyclists and runners who otherwise would have been hibernating for the winter. Who knows how many extra pounds were not gained due to the NCC? Maybe that's a stat we should start tracking.

As always, the club registration begins on November 1. If you are the representative for your club you can register and start building your team.

The competition begins on December 1, with the opening of the Swim Session.

To everyone back again for another run at glory and epic effort, welcome back. To everyone new to the NCC, congratulations - you don't know it yet but you just kick-started your 2014 tri season.

Spring will be here before you know it.
